Education is the art of making man ethical. :D

QUESTIONS:
1. Attacks on People – Financial Hacks
What are some of the ways that people can hack into financial system and steal money?
-I. Targeting
The hacker determines what network to break into during this phase. The target may be of particular interest to the hacker, either politically or personally, or may pick one at random. Next, they will port scan a network to determine if it is vulnerable to attacks, which is just testing all ports on a host machine for a response. Open ports—those that do respond—will allow a hacker to access the system.

-II. Research and Information Gathering
It is in this stage that the hacker will visit or contact the target in some way in hopes of finding out vital information that will help them access the system. The main way that hackers get desired results from this stage is from Social Engineering, which will be explained below. Aside from Social Engineering, hackers can also use a technique called Dumpster Diving. Dumpster Diving is when a hacker will literally dive into a dumpster in hopes to find documents that users have thrown away, which may contain information a hacker can use directly or indirectly, to help them gain access to a network.

-III. Finishing the Attack
This is now the stage when the hacker will invade the preliminary target that he/she was planning to attack or steal, this is also the stage where many of the "hackers" are caught, lured in or grabbed by any data.
Is it ethical for banks and other companies to always give themselves the financial benefit of rounding down and balances and interest payments so that they get the benefit instead of the customer?
- It’s unethical, not all the time they must give employees more benefits, and they need to give more importance for their customers to stay with them or for the development of the company.

2. Safety Critical Applications
As our economy becomes more dependent upon computer controlled devices, how much faith should be placed in the hands of software programs? Are there ways to ensure that a program is failed safe/ Should a safety critical application such as a network of nuclear defense missiles or an air traffic control system be controlled only by a computer program rather than having a human element to over ride potential consequences?

- There are times that we need to use software programs, some situation can’t solve without software programs, as of now our generation is more on technology.  We must be aware of technology life. Human element to over ride has a potential too but that is not enough to have a successful transportation you are doing. May be it depends on how is the situation goes.

3. Assume that Donna Prima taught at a school whose dean was less vigilant. If no one at her school questions her, is it ethical for her to continue to create her Web site without permission?

- It is ethical, creating websites or blog is your choice unless it’s not affects other people, in that case even   no one  asked Donna  there is no problem with that. She can enjoy. Creating blog is a freedom!

4.
Assume a newly hired professor spends his summer preparing a set of PowerPoint™ presentations to accompany his class lectures. Is it ethical for a student to take copious notes of the lectures and share them with classmates? Sell them to a company called “BetterNotes” to be copied and re-sold? How would your analysis differ if the professor linked an in class presentation prepared on Microsoft PowerPoint™ to his own Web site? Posted them on a Web site created especially for his class?

- It is unethical copying data without any permission is illegal, and yet they have a plan to sell that PowerPoint presentation not knowing if that is right or wrong, they need to ask permission to that professor  for me that is unethical.

5. Suppose that the professor does not get tenure—or leaves for a better job. Would it be ethical for the University to demand he leave his notes behind for the teacher who replaces him? To retain the Web site with its links to his computer presentation? To take the presentation sells it as “course outline” for a profit?

- It is ethical for the university to get those lessons it can use as a source for knowledge and besides may be those lessons are connected to other people’s study but it’s unethical to sell that it is an illegal work.

An act has no ethical quality whatever unless it be chosen out of several all equally possible.
